As a child of the 80’s like many twenty somethings, I skipped off to see my childhood toys come to life in the film ‘Transformers’. Counting no less than three eBay adverts before the trailers (reminding me how those adverts do seem to promote shill bidding, its OK eBay we know what you mean)….and eBay was a main focal point about 3 times in the film. The main character was traced by Optimus Prime though eBay, as he was selling his grandfathers glasses which had a map to the sought after ‘All Spark’. eBay was mentioned in the first scene, and now all young lads thinking about there first car will be buying one from eBay motors with a silent wish it turn out to be an autobot!
It was a fantastic film, and I wonder if eBay will get a token slot in the sequel, as the Decepicon Starscream got away? Will the sequel involve Sam setting up a paypal account for Optimus Prime to buy his own oil?
