Not a TRS? No one wants to see you then, trash!

One of my main clients has not become a TRS, so since October no one can see him. Questions have plummeted as well as sales.
Even though, this client has now done two daily deals and has another on the way. So eBay can’t think he is trash? Can they?

Researching the effect of TRS I searched for a Kooga Rugby Ball and got the dreaded purple pop up covering my clients item:

trs

Sorry the image is a bit too big, you can’t see the text if I make it fit.

So I do as the purple box commands. Only to find that for the rest of my searching session, my search is defaulted to only show Top Rated Sellers unless I clear the search in the sidebar.

Lets face it, ebayer’s can’t find the shipping tab any more in the new item detail layout so it will take time for them to get used to clearing the ‘top rated seller only’ parameter.

So if you buyer does as the purple box commands, you will be invisible. Unless you are part of the fragile elite.

Kidsontalks Downtime

Oooh, we got a little lost there – but we are back on-line with a new host.

Remember kids ALWAYS make regular back ups – do not trust your host….

Royal Mail Postal Strikes – Getting a bit silly now…

Yup, you guessed it, here we go again.

Well I need to get something to Eton College promptly next week and I am going to try Economy Delivery 24 – 72 Hours – £6.49 (£7.49 with VAT) from parcel2go.com for it. The customer paid £5 postage and I will gladly take the hit of £2.50 to get the item in on time. Who knows what would happen even if I sent it Special Delivery.

Will book on a collection Sunday and tell you all how it goes.

Need to survive the postal strike? See here.

Edited to add: My experience with Parcel2go was flawless, and now the postal strikes have been announced:

CWU national industrial action

The CWU has announced the intention to hold two national strikes next week, following their recent ballot of members. The details of the national industrial action are as follows:

Date Function striking General service impact
Thursday 22nd October Mail Centres, Network Distribution Units and Collections Hubs across the country. Limited processing, movement and collection of ordinary mail (if local collections performed by staff at a Collections Hub).
Friday 23rd October Delivery Offices in all areas. Limited delivery and collection of ordinary mail (if local collections performed by the Delivery Office).

Postal Strike Petition – Exposure

Just giving exposure:

Tamebay Blog Post:

Rachael from Thingimijigs has started a petition asking the government to intervene in the strike before it causes small businesses yet more problems.

eBay Seller Fraud Exposed – DSR fiddling!

Well, I have been on holiday – which forces my clients to somewhat beg their eBay account managers for attention, which is sometimes a hard thing to do.

But a client of mine in the sports category managed to get hold of his and have a darn good chat. We are doing everything by the book and eBay loves him! He is getting daily deals by the dozen, been asked to be included in the eBay Christmas catalogue – so why is he not a Top Seller…?

Feedback great, DSR score great, ‘low’ DSR score – not too great – and then the account manager said – oh?

Apparently, we have glowing positive feedback from some transactions with ALL the DSR scores at 1, almost 45 of them over the last few months, all domestic. Most of them have been tracked back to none other than my clients competitors, some speculated to be ‘linked’ accounts.

Sneaky and downright rude.

Once these have the dealt with, guess what? – my client gets to be a Top Seller, not loose £1000 per month in fee discounts and enjoy his raised search standing so he might not chuck in the towel with eBay.

So my advice to you is to give your eBay account manager a call and ask them to check for positive feedbacks with low DSR’s, especially if you are in the sports category.

And if this is something you do – watch ‘My name is Earl’ on Ch4, it’s all about the karma baby and you will get it in the end….

Comment if this happened to you!
